Welcome to the first Parent Education Seminar of 2016! For the price of a coffee you have the opportunity to learn from highly renowned neuroscientist (and parent) Dr. Lara Boyd. 

Join us on Tuesday, January 19th, 2016 from 6:15pm-8:00pm in the school gym as Dr. Boyd reviews how the brain changes with learning and development. She will discuss how stress and anxiety affects the brain and learning. Dr. Boyd will present recent data showing brain plasticity in children and conclude with some practical tips for maximizing learning and brain plasticity. Space is limited, reserve your spot online

Do you like camping? Always wanted to try kayaking? Interested in spending more time outdoors? This Spring, join the Little Mountain Outdoor Leadership Program - an exciting opportunity for grade 7-10 students to get outdoors! Starting in April we will meet on Tuesday evenings at Little Mountain, where we will eat a quick snack, and then head outdoors! 

There will be a mixture of indoor and outdoor activities, a camping trip, and a full-day trip. If you have any questions, or want more information, contact me!

Literacy Club at the school: We offer physical literacy, social literacy and academic literacy through organized activities, outside play and monthly themed academic lesson plans. Our Literacy Leaders/Facilitators are made up of University Students currently completing their teaching degrees and a couple completing their doctorates! Our program comes with a low fee of $40 for up to 10 weeks, this includes paying staff, program materials and a healthy after school snack. 

Youth Drop-in programs: FREE!!! Youth drop-in is twice a week on Tuesday and Friday evenings 5pm-8pm at Little Mountain Neighbourhood House on Main & 24th. This drop in program has no obligation or fee, only a registration form for safety purposes and is offered to the intermediate children in grades 4-7. This program is called CREW and offers awesome leadership skills, cooking activities, games and out trips to community venues/community centres to swim/bowling etc. As I mentioned, ALL FREE.

Spring Break Camp: This is also offered at Little Mountain Neighbourhood House for FULL DAYS, 9am-4pm for a weekly fee that will pay for staffing, materials for organized activities, snacks and field trips.
