 The David Livingstone School community wishes to extend a heartfelt thank-you to this year’s (first ever!) movie night sponsor: The Tooth Booth on Main Street! Dr. Chiu and The Tooth Booth generously offered to donate $1000 to our PAC this year, and as a token of our appreciation we will be including “thank you” messages before and after our movie screenings, including the Paddington in Peru screening this Thursday afternoon. If you’re looking for a new dentist, please check out The Tooth Booth at 4178 Main Street. They are a wonderful, family-friendly, community-minded dentist just blocks from our school. Duncan McDonald is a Livingstone School parent and a Secondary School STEM teacher. He teaches Technology and Electronics at Eric Hamber Secondary in Vancouver. Over the course of his career, he has observed a distinct shift in his students’ use of screen-based technology which has inspired him to take a closer look at the research and identify strategies to help young people navigate their relationship with screen-based media. He has prepared a presentation for his secondary school peers, on the effects of excessive screen use on youth mental health, and he has graciously agreed to bring this presentation to the Livingstone School community at our next PAC meeting.  The Livingstone PAC Fall Fund Drive kicks off this week! Our goal this year is to raise $30,000 to focus on initiatives regarding Math, Mental Wellness, and Movement for our families and children. Introducing, The Three MMMS! "Three MMMs" initiative focuses on Math, Movement, and Mental Wellness and aims to build on the Livingstone School Plan goals to "improve numeracy, physical and mental well-being, and belonging" in our school community. Funds raised will be distributed evenly across the three areas of focus.
Donations of $25 or more will be eligible to receive a tax receipt in this school year.
This is our only tax deductible fundraiser this year. Your generosity helps fund real world experiences, joyful learning, and a supportive school environment where every student can excel in the 3Ms!
