As a return-it school, David Livingstone is collecting all your empty drink containers throughout the year. We welcome beer and pop cans, glass juice, wine and beer bottles, plastic drink bottles, wine boxes as well as juice boxes (big and small). No dairy or soy please.
You can drop off your refundables on school days at drop off or pick up; just put them in the blue round bins in the hallways. Bigger bags can be dropped of directly inside the big blue bins in the recycling room which can be found down the stairs from the library, beside the gym on the playground side. But, because we understand that many of you are busy and empty bottles are not a priority during the morning rush, we are now offering monthly bottle drives too! We encourage you to collect all your empties in boxes or bags and bring them to the colourful recycling container near the playground. The next community bottle drives will be held between 10am and 12pm on - Saturday November 3rd, - Saturday December 1st - and Saturday January 5th This event is open to all members of the community, so tell your neighbours and friends to start collecting too. If your office/business is collecting drink containers separately, why not ask if you can take them off their hands? And lastly, we are currently picking up empties from The Fish Counter on Main Street but would be happy to connect with any other businesses that would be willing to donate their bottles towards our program too. Feel free to contact Caroline at [email protected] if you have any questions or can connect us to another local business. Div 1 and 2 students are helping with the recycling process and all proceeds of our recycling program are going towards their Jasper trip.

Vancouver DPAC asked all 33 trustee candidates the same 19 questions and compiled their answers. See the survey answers here. Hi parents,
As you may know, one of the now-annual fundraising events at Livingstone is the East Van Soiree, held in February. We throw this event jointly with Brock Elementary school. This year it will be held on February 1, 2019 at Heritage Hall on Main Street. We are looking for parents who: - are interested in joining the committee (four meetings total, plus soliciting silent auction items and helping night-of) - have items to donate to the silent auction - are interested in sponsoring the event through donating money, wine, etc. (more info to come). Last year we raised over $23,000 and it was a terrific night spent with other parents helping to bring our community closer. If you are interested in joining the committee, our first meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. on October 23 at Nomad. Please email [email protected] if you would like to join us! - Julia Hibbard |
