From Mr. Mitzel: Last week a few of our students on the Livingstone Leadership Team helped spread the word of Acceptance by participating in a video campaign for the Vancouver School Board. This was in preparation for the February 18 event at the PNE and the official Pink Day on Wednesday, February 25. For Pink Day this year, students are preparing a flash mob style dance routine to Pharrell Williams' song, "Happy" to be performed at the Vancouver Giants game on February 18.

Ronan is in Grade 6 in Ms. Geri’s class. Every day at 2:20, he leaves his class to go and help the Kindergarteners with their gym time. This arrangement works well for the kids and Ronan as they all enjoy being active, exercising and having a break from the classroom. Ronan takes his leadership very seriously and tries his best to keep an eye on the kids and make sure they play safely. Sometimes the kids like to chase Ronan through the playground trying to tag him. Or, they might play games in the gym. After working with the kindergarteners for the past few months, he has learned a lot about the patience and the attention necessary to get the kids moving while staying safe. Judging by the smiles on everyone’s faces, it looks like everyone involved is having a great time. Editor's note: Several of our students help younger kids at our school. If you have a story to share about your child, or if you're a student and would like to talk about your experience helping a younger class, please email [email protected]
